Monitoring and Evaluation

Monitoring and evaluation is the collection, analysis and use of information or data to reflect on the decision-making of a project and various health activities by identifying what has been done well and what needs improvements.

The monitoring and evaluation team of the National Center for Health Promotion assesses project implementations to ensure the improvements of final results management and positive impacts at present and in the future. The center creates and evaluates techniques, existing information management system, and approves changes of support and necessary resources. The team prepares database and project indicators and supports project progress report, mid-project check, and final evaluation. Through this process, the team identifies experiences gained and makes case studies to select quality results and gives feedback on project implementations using the monitoring and evaluation results.

What the Unit Does

The M&E team assesses the performance of NCHP projects with the aim to improve current and future management of outputs, outcomes and impact. To achieve this, the team undertakes several oversight activities including reviewing management approaches, processes and information systems and recommending alterations to measures, support and resources. The team also develops baseline data and indicators to support project progress reporting, project mid-term review and final evaluations. Through this process, the team identifies lessons learned and develops case studies to capture qualitative outputs of the project and to apply learnings to improve NCHP project performance.
